Community Guidelines
Private conversations still need clear boundaries. These rules apply to accounts, direct and group messages, invite links, files, voice messages, profiles and reports.
Zero tolerance. Objectionable content and abusive users are not allowed. Reported violations are reviewed and acted on — including removing content and ejecting the responsible user — within 24 hours.
1. Never allowed
- Child sexual abuse or exploitation: grooming, sexualization of minors, abuse imagery, sextortion, trafficking or attempts to obtain such material.
- Non-consensual sexual content: intimate imagery without consent, sexual extortion, coercion, or threats to publish private material.
- Credible violence: specific threats, incitement, terrorism support, instructions intended to facilitate serious harm, or glorification used to recruit.
- Targeted abuse: stalking, sustained harassment, hate-based attacks, impersonation, doxxing, or sharing someone’s sensitive information without permission.
- Scams and technical harm: phishing, fraud, malware, credential theft, spam, deceptive investment schemes or unauthorized commercial solicitation.
- Illegal trade and rights violations: unlawful goods or services, exploitation, or content you do not have the right to distribute.
- Service abuse: evading blocks or bans, mass account creation, scraping, denial-of-service activity, forged reports, or misuse of invites and notifications.
2. Report only what is needed
- Open the message or user menu and choose Report.
- Select the closest category: spam, harassment, hate, sexual content, violence, scam, illegal content, or other.
- Review the exact evidence and context before confirming.
- Submit once. The app returns a case reference when the report is accepted.
The selected evidence is encrypted specifically for the designated safety moderator. The ordinary relay stores report ciphertext; your other messages are not automatically included. Remove unrelated personal information before sending.
For suspected child exploitation, choose Illegal content or Sexual content and state that child safety is involved. Do not forward abusive material to additional people.
3. Block abusive users
Blocking is private. It immediately stops new direct interactions and related delivery or notification paths in either direction, and hides that person’s direct conversation on your device. The other person is not told who blocked them. Blocking does not change shared-group membership or read another person’s messages.
Avoid continuing contact through new accounts or invite links. Repeated block evasion is a violation.
4. What moderation can do
Depending on severity, evidence and what is technically possible in an encrypted service, action can include a warning, delivery or invite restriction, group removal, suspension, account deletion, preservation required by law, or referral where law permits or requires it. Encryption limits proactive server-side inspection; it does not prevent action on evidence a participant deliberately reports.
The operator aims to review reports and act on violations within 24 hours. Imminent danger should be reported to local emergency services; mysecret.chat is not an emergency service.
5. Appeals and mistakes
If you believe an enforcement action was a mistake, email support@mysecret.chat with your case reference. Do not send private keys, passwords or an entire conversation — the case reference is enough. Knowingly false reports may themselves lead to restrictions.
